The World Health Organization states that over 25 million people around the world are immobile and without money to buy a wheelchair. It is believed that up to 2 ½ % of the population of developing countries fall into this category. To address the actual world need a coordinated global effort is required. Strathcona Sunrise partners with fellow Rotary Clubs and The Wheelchair Foundation to deliver wheelchairs to a children, teens or adults without mobility, freedom and often hope. Since March of 2001 Rotary Clubs have sponsored over 70,000 wheelchairs to 80 countries.
